For the mythical 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend, TAG Heuer drivers will start from the 3 first rows on the grid, Saturday at 3pm.
The Pôle Position was achieved during the official sessions by Frenchman Stephane Sarrazin, driving the Peugeot 908 n°8, together with Pedro Lamy and Alexander Wurz.
The Peugeot n°9 is 2nd with Montagny – Zonta – Klien and the Peugeot n°7 is 3rd with Villeneuve – Gene – Minassian.
TAG Heuer has partnered with Team Peugeot since 2007, as Official Timekeeper, official watch, chronograph and official eyewear. At Le Mans, watched by more than 600 million viewers, the Peugeot drivers will wear in these ultimate conditions the TAG Heuer Carrera Racing, Grand Carrera and Monaco chronographs.
The drivers will also proudly demonstrate the innovative Night Vision concept and all Team members will be equipped with TAG Heuer Zenith and 27° AIR sunglasses.
The 24 Heures of the Le Mans race is a pure legend because of the ultimate endurance test for the cars and drivers and the reflection that occur especially at night or under difficult weather conditions, when fatigue decreases psychological and physical reactivity.
Therefore, TAG Heuer “Avant-Garde Eyewear” has developed purpose-made eyeglasses for each driver. The exclusive Night Vision concept combines many features in order to enhance drivers’ visual performances, and to provide them with an outstanding comfort at twilight and night. The goal is easy to understand: to help Peugeot Sport to maximize the performances of its drivers at Le Mans.
After their 2nd final place last year at Le Mans and after being Endurance World Championship with 6 wins in 6 races in 2007 (they are still leading this championship this year after winning all the 1000km races), their main objective is to achieve Le Mans prestigious win this weekend.
Between them the 9 drivers and TAG Heuer ambassadors have racked up 3 World Championship titles, 393 F1 GP and 32 participations in Le Mans.
With these drivers, TAG Heuer continues to be part of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, thirty-nine years after the movie “Le Mans” starring Steve McQueen in a Gulf-sponsored Porsche 917K, and 35 years after its last participation in 1973 as official timekeeper and partner of Scuderia Ferrari with the famous Ferrari 312 PB sport prototypes.
TAG Heuer is wishing all the best to its partners and ambassadors, driving to score another great moment in the history of the brand after winning Monaco GP and Indy 500 less than 1 month ago! - - (tagheuer.com)
