The 2009 CLK-Class is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports coupe, or luxury convertible, available in 4 trims, ranging from the CLK350 Coupe to the CLK550 Cabriolet.

Upon introduction, the CLK350 Coupe is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. The CLK550 Cabriolet is equipped with a standard 5.5-liter, V8, 382-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2009 CLK-Class is a carryover from 2008.
