The DMAXX is painted in high-gloss burgundy and black that captures the spirit of the original model. Under the hood, the chromed and detailed MaxxForce 7 diesel V-8 engine incorporates technology that was nothing more than a dream in 1939 when the first one rolled off the assembly line. The result is 350 horsepower and a tyre-shredding 620 lb-ft of torque. Rolling on 18” wheels and tyres, the D-Rod has a boxed and reinforced frame, and height-adjustable air suspension.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company today announced that it will ask Polish tire company TC Debica — in which it is the majority shareholder — to nearly triple its commercial tire production for Goodyear, from 1,700 to 5,000 tires per day, to meet the increasing demand for technically advanced, high-quality commercial truck tires in Europe.

Goodyear has had a majority ownership interest in TC Debica, Poland’s largest tiremaker, since 1995.

The giant tyre manufacturter in Nigeria, Dunlop Nigeria Plc, has taken its latest product, Supersteel Truck Tyre, to the on-going 29th edition of Kaduna International Trade Fair.

As a result of its durability and offer of low cost per kilometer for transporters, haulage companies and truck tyre transporters have continued to troop to Dunlop’s village at the fair ground for purchase and enquires.

Pirelli’s new ‘Scorpion’ tyres will make their first appearance in the WRC on the Corona Rally Mexico this weekend, the third round in the series and the first gravel event of ‘08.

The event, which takes place on roads around Leon, will make an excellent test bed for the specialised rubber that Pirelli has developed for the gravel events.

Furthermore as gravel is the most common surface on this year’s championship - comprising 10 of the 15 events - the importance of this all-new tyre cannot be underestimated.

The Equator is first being shown at the 2008 Chicago auto show in the form of three concepts based on the production version. Each is geared toward a different Suzuki buyer: one for the dirt biker (RMZ-4), another for ATV riders (Quad), and a third for those towing a boat powered by a Suzuki marine engine (Quay).

The Equator is all about branding. Suzuki is banking on the idea that their powersports customers want to move their toys around in a truck with the same badge on it. One of the interiors of Ford Transit Connect 2009
A popular commercial vehicle from Europe will go on sale in selected North American markets from mid-2009 onwards.

Transit Connect was named International Van of the Year” for 2003 when it was first launched, and the automaker says that it’s a fuel-efficient small-business alternative to a full-sized commercial van. Transit Connect also promises excellent durability and safety, partially due to its strong, thick body and high-quality assembly procedures.

The ZR1 is a 600 plus horsepower super Corvette, with production is limited to just 2000 units a year. It will likely cost in the neighborhood of $100,000. The car’s platform is the already stellar Z06 Corvette that features an aluminum chassis and 505 horsepower from a 7.0-liter small-block V-8. The ZR1 takes the next step and uses forced induction by means of a new Eaton 4-lobe supercharger mounted on a revised 6.2-liter V-8. Horsepower isn’t known yet, but claimed to be well above 600.

The Journey, which rides on a 113.8-in. wheelbase, slots neatly between the entry-level Caliber and the full-size Grand Caravan. Adapted from the mid-size Avenger sedan architecture, the new vehicle effectively replaces the short-wheelbase Caravan, which was dropped when the minivan lineup was revamped for the 2008 model year.
